2000 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl 77,000 miles

My tie rod was just about to go in my Maxima. I went to a garage, not a nissan dealer, who said there was no Nissan parts available. I did tell him specifically i wanted Nissan but went ahead and did something else. Hhe used an OEM part. Is that ok?

Also i'm in need of brakes and Rotors. Do we need Nissan parts back on?

You can use Nissan parts if you like throwing money away. Don't get me wrong, there are situations where they are the best way to go but when it comes to brakes and steering components, the aftermarket companies are the ones that make them for the manufacturer anyway. Just try to stay with name brands and not the Chinese made stuff.
