Diagnosis & Repair
For signal testing, see ENGINE REVOLUTION SIGNAL CIRCUIT (TACH SIGNAL) under CIRCUIT TESTS. Check harness for opens or shorts to ground between ECM and TCM.
ENGINE REVOLUTION SIGNAL CIRCUIT (TACH SIGNAL)
NOTE:For more information, see DTC P0201 in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
Start engine and idle. Check voltage between TCM terminal No. 24 and ground. See Fig. 11. Voltage should vary from.5-1.5 volts. If voltage is within specification, recheck applicable TCM input/output signals. See TCM PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS. If any voltage measured is not as specified, check TCM connector terminals for damage or loose connection to harness connector. Repair as necessary. If TCM terminals and harness connector are okay, replace TCM.
