Transmission problem
1997 Nissan Maxima Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Automatic 118000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
hi, i got a problem with my transmission. i drove from san diego to covina with no problems at all. but the next day, when i was suppose to move the car for the first time that day, the transmission wont change from "P" to other position. i checkout the brakes and the stoplight and its working just fine. is there a minor troubleshooting to determine the real problem?

Try moving the steering wheel to its extreme left and right and at the same be turning the key

You have a problem with the shift interlock system-get the shift lock solenoid and the computer with it check out. You should have an override button-
