Its been a while I have used the AC on the car. The AC was low on coolant and i took it to a dealer to have it refilled. The problem now is the AC goes on and off in a span of 2 to 3 mins. When the AC is switched on I can feel the cools air for few minutes and the compressor shuts off bring it back to normal temperature. After some time the compressor switch back again. Not sure what’s going on, can some pls. help.

I took the car to Pepboys, they were not sure of the problem and suggested to me change couple of part in the AC system that would fix the problem. Total effort is going to cost me $800.

Hi Prabha,

Most probably the system has been overcharged with refrigerant. Get a pressure test done to find out.
