1996 Nissan Maxima Shifts into neutral when stopped

Transmission problem
1996 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Automatic 114000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hey,

Have a 96 maxima with 114000 miles. When stoped the trans disengages and with some torque will reingage. Will have to rev a bit before trans engages causing a jerking take off. Any Ideas? Thanks for any help

Hi Terry Watson,

If the idling speed is low, you would not feel the trans pulling , especially if up a small incline. If that is the case, nothing to worry about, it is normal.
