Hey guys. I am loving your site. I was wondering though how I get my timing chain and the tension-er off? Because my car rattles from it so bad you can hear it about two blocks away, but I cant afford the shops quoted $1,500.00. I just need to know how do I properly open up the cover? how do I spot the tension-er? how do I remove the chain itself? how do I remove the tension-er, and is there anything else I have to remove or disconnect?

Okay, here you go I will do my best to do this over the internet and include pictures. Disconnect battery. Drain the oil and release the fuel system pressure. Remove the lower covers and then remove the right front wheel and engine side cover. Drain coolant and remove the radiator. Now remove the intake air duct and tubes label and disconnect the electrical connections hoses and cables needed. Remove the EGR tubes and the ignition coils and remove supports to the intake manifold. Get to and remove the intake manifold. Now remove the valve covers leaving hoses attached and remove the A/C compressor and alternator bracket and idler pulley bracket. Remove camshaft position senor and bell housing front cover. Remove the crankshaft position sensor and exhaust manifolds. Set up to TDC and check that the timing marks line up and remove crankshaft bolt and using a puller remove the harmonic balancer. Support the engine with a floor jack and board if needed and remove engine mount and center mount. Remove water pump cover and timing chain case bolts and separate front and rear timing chain cases then remove the front cover. Remove timing chain guide and upper chain guide and tension-er and slack side chain guide. Now remove intake camshaft outer sprockets and remove chain. Install stopper pins in the camshaft tension-er's and don not rotate cams and intake camshaft sprockets and chain and remove lower chain guide remove chains. Now reverse order to install.
