At 130000 I replaced the fuel injectors using rebuilt injectors since two were open when checked with an ohm meter. After 3000 miles I got some rough performance when I started the car on a cold morning. Checking the error code I got 51 which indicates an open in the injector circuit. However before I could check it out the problem cleared. I suspect it's going to come back. Is this a typical problem with injectors and should I get new ones rather than rebuilt if I need to replace them again?

When it comes to injectors I always opt for new. They are electronic solenoids as well as mechanical valves, just about everything in them wears to some degree.

Better take care of that ASAP or you gonna face a bigger problem when it takes out the ECM/Computer driver circuits.

we found tons of early single pintle type of nissan injectors having problems...especially on the vg30 engine problem only last 10 months...is ur area gasoline blend with 10 % ethanol ?.... run a fuel test from ur tank.... also use original nissan parts ...rebuild are okay but they are no equal .. lets be honest to each other...we got burn from some brand from our vendor even we make a living with on car only...sometimes u can get away with it but only those who make a living in this industry know more on which rebuild to use and which not to use...let me know how u come out..
