1994 Nissan Maxima

Did tune up, all but timing. Allworked well untill son entered door code and changed fuse in trunk. Fusable link on positive cable burned, all elect. Did not work. Replaced fusiable link, elect works but car will only start if battery fully charged and when warm back fires and dies. This is son's car and we can't aford mechanic.

Hi Ed, It sounds like you may have burned out the alternator and some injectors, this condition happens when the battery is jump started with the wrong termanils. please referre to this page

The car has been jumoed correctly, thanks. Will the alternator caus the engine to back fire and die when warm?
