1992 Nissan Maxima Wiper motor broken?

My windshield wipers were frozen to my window last night but they were also left on. When I started the car this morning, they kicked on, but couldn't move. The motor still tried to turn them, but instead they busted. How do I fix this?

There are linkages under the cowling at the base of the windshield. They will sometimes pop off from the ball socket when the wipers are frozen to the glass.
