what is the proper procedure for clutch adjustment on a 1987 nissan maxima manual transmission ,clutch grabs to late when disengaged

There is no adjustment with this clutch apart from pedal height, this will not affect your problem, if the hydraulic system is ok, the clutch will be due for o/haul.
