2006 Nissan Frontier Air Conditioner Cuts Out

My air conditioner apparently runs on blower speeds 1 and 2, because I can feel the cool air for a brief time when I turn to blower speed 3. The trouble is that the blower is not running at speeds 1 and 2 and the A/C is not running at blower speeds 3 and 4. I am guessing that the blower resistor unit is somehow involved. Could a faulty resistor unit keep the air conditioner from cooling? How shall I go about troubleshooting?

Thank you for the donation.

You are correct about the resistor being faulty resulting in the 1st and 2nd speed not working.

However it should not affect the AC operations where cooling is concerned.

You need to check if there is sufficient gas in the system and if the compressor is working.

Get the pressure reading checked.
