My Nissan 2004 Frontier crew cab truck engine died while I was driving on interstate at 65MPH around 10PM at night. All the indicators lighted up like a Christmas tree. I let the truck roll till the exit ramp came and pulled over. It was 25 degrees outside and waited for 45 minutes for the tow truck to come and had it towed to a hotel parking lot. The engine would crank but will not start.
What can cause sudden death of an engine that was running fine all day? The check engine light came on at the same time the engine stalled.

I would say you have a few options. If the timing belt has never been done, then it may have gone out. Fuel pump could have failed (try spraying throttle body cleaner in the intake and start it to see if it will run). Crank position sensor could have failed.
