After 3 trips to my Nissan Dealer, my truck was diagnosed as having a head gasket that is leaking coolant onto the cylinders. They want $1800 to fix it. The car misses and the check engine light is on. Is there anything I should be doing to keep it running until I can find another car? Is there anyplace that I can get it fixed at a more reasonable rate?

Thanks

Hello,

You can try putting in some Bars Leak to give you some added time. I would call around to the local garages and get a few quotes.

To be honest since it is a 4 cylinder $1800 is high. I charge a flat rate of about $150 per cylinder plus parts.
