We have a 2006 Nissan Altima, 4 cy., and when we stop at a light or stop sign there is a vibration, but if we put it in park the vibration goes away. Can you tell me what the problem could be? I noticed when it is idling the rpm's is around 700. I had it in the shop and they did tell us the front motor mounts were a little loose, but they weren't that bad.

Hello,

It does sound like the issue is motor mount. This is kind of a typical symptom of bad motor mount(s).

Here is a helpful guide:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/replace-motor-mounts

As for the idle, this engine normally idles at 700 RPM (+/- 50). So, you are within range for that.

Unless you have other symptoms or have error lights on, like the check engine light, the motor mount is likely the culprit. The error light can indicate other engine issues.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
