for the last week, when I start the car...it makes two short knocking noises...only heard if in the car
on drivers side on floor I would like to know what
it could be before I take it to a mechanic

This may just be a loose or faulty engine mount or exhaust mount, i would have these checked first, does the knock remain constant on each start, is it when the starter engages or during the cranking prior to starting or just as the engine fires and runs?
