I have a nissan altima 2005 2.5S. My seat belts for both driver and passenger side don't go back to their positions once released. I have to bring the buckle back manually to put on seat belts. what could be wrong ?

Sounds like you may have failed seat belt retractors. Seat belt retractors are mounted in the B pillars. If the car is under warrenty still this should be covered. Also keep in mind that some seatbelt components are warrantied for 10 years.
