My car was not turning over right after It had been started after setting awhile. I took it to check the battery. They removed it and put it on the machine and told me the battery was bad. Bad Cells. The battery is only 1.8 yrs old. I replaced the battery. No issues. I drove the car the first time and 2 miles the battery light came on and my car shut off. I coasted to a stop. I took the connections off and waited and it started again. Now it only starts after setting for awhile. Im confused on the problem? Brand new battery, but only after it sits will it start even after turning it off?

The engine llight came on. When I replaced the battery it went off. Then when it went dead with the new battery, the light and the engine light came back on.

Hi there,
You best start with the basics, check for spark. Fuel pressure and injection pulse, run a scan and check for any unresolved fault codes, check this first.

Will run the scan. There is one thing. Right now the car will turn over only if it has set for about 15 or 30 minutes. It will not turn over if you have just turned off the car?

This can be a sensor that is over heating, a scan should pick this up if this is the case.
