2000 Nissan Altima Blinker not working

My blinkers are failing. The problem started at first when turn the blinkers on it would stop blinking after a few seconds. A few seconds later it will come back on. Over the last month the problem worsened continuously, to the point where the blinkers dont blink any more (maybe just once). What could be casuing this issue

check for faulty combination flasher unit, located behind dash right of steering column.
