1998 Nissan Altima service engine soon light comes on

Temp guage going from cold to middle, water was driipping onto my shoe, engine light came came on, anti freeze ok, check oil ok

Check engine light comes on when computer detect trouble that may and will effect emission system
most common and an easy to do is gas cap check if its on and tight
also open the hood and check for vacuum leaks
scanning the system will clear things up
and pin point the troubled area
most part store and or local shops will scan it for free
