1998 Nissan Altima gas sensor

Computer problem
1998 Nissan Altima 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Fuel tank and pump recently replaced. but gas gauge not working,repair man says its easy to replace sensor,just pull out back seat and there should be a box with the sensor in it, is this true?

Hi there,

you have to remove the seat base and there is a cover plate, you have to undo the electric plugs and the fuel lines, then undo the sender cover plate, the sender & pump will then be able to be withdrawn, you have to then remove the pump from the sender ass, if you have never done this type of work before, i would be getting a mechanic to do it as there are a few tricky bits involved.
