1998 Nissan Altima dash instrument cluster light

Does anyone know where the fuse is for the instrument dash lights.? the whole dash area is black at night, but when the headlights are not on the clock lights up. any help anyone?

It is under the steering column, close to your left knee if you are sitting in the driver seat.

It is also possible that your dimmer switch is defective.
