Need Help in rolling my power window up. When I went out today to my car and warmed it up, I rolled the window down. I noticed it stopped half way down. Then I proceeded to hit the lower button again and it went down. However when I wanted to roll it back up it started to slowly, then it stopped a third of the way up.

This had happened before to me once, the last time I just lowered it all the way down, then pushed the button to roll it up and that worked. Well that failed this time. I have already taken the door panel off and can get to the window motor. When I click the down button I can hear the motor, but I do not seem to hear anything when I click up. All the other 3 windows in the car work fine.

My main concern for right now is to roll the window up. I am currently in Michigan and it is COLD and snowing outside. If the motor needs to be replaced I can manage to do that but I need to roll my window up first so I can drive back home.

Is there a way to manually roll the window up or disengage the power motor, please let me know soon as you can.

Yes you can. You will need a test light. Sounds like a switch problem because you say it works on down, not up. The motor works off reverse polarity. There are 2 wires at motor, when you press down one wire is positive and the other is negative. And when you go up they are reversed. You are either losing power or ground, you have to determine which you are using and apply voltage or ground to the wire. Or you can cut the wires to the motor and reverse them, so when pushing down the window will go up. Hope this helps

Thanks, reversing the wire to the motor did the trick. I guess now I just have to replace the window switch. Thank you so much.
