Engine Performance problem
1997 Nissan Altima 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
Our 1997 Nissan Altima, automatic, 4 cyl., 120k mi., starts hard. When idling it runs smoothly. When pressure applied to accelerator pedal, cuts out and dies unless several short jabs applied. Put in gear idles fine. When several jabs made to accelerator pedal and in low gear does not cut out. When put into higher gear, cuts out until RPMs are running higher. The only remedy attempted thus far is to add a water eliminating agent to the fuel. Thanks for your help, MU
