1996 Nissan Altima only 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear work

it pops outta 2nd, 4th , and reverse gears. also the shifter doesnt stand upright in nuetral, it leans back, and can hold the other gears but sways when the car moves foward, and/ or the brakes are uhit hard, yet still holds 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear.

Hi there,

This may well be a faulty gear selector cable, have this checked out first.
