Engine Performance problem
1995 Nissan Altima 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 86XXX miles

This is a follow up of my previous question. I found the air intake boot. The connection between the top of the engine block and the big air hose is broken. It is rather blown off than being gotten brittle and cracked. What could be the possible reasons? Thanks.

It started as being brittle and cracked. If the clamp wasn't attached securely, there is a chance that the entire broken piece would be blown off from the car without your noticing it.

I have seen that happened on a Mazda 626. I just went to the wrecking yard, and got another one.
