The automatic window, wants to malfunction here lately, roll window up and it goes up then comes half way down and stops. Then we have to turn ignition on go up on window it maystop turn off key and hope it stays up. If it does then the auto drop down and back up to protect the window during shutting the door does not work, window is full up position. Started doing this a month or so ago.
also, I know the Body control module must have a problem, due to interior lights stop working, have to follow proceedure called Servic Bullentin EL02-045 and or refer#NTB03-001 and the lights will go back to operating ok for awhile.

I'm having the same problem with my 2004 350 Z Roadster Touring edition. Nissan looked at it & said it needed a motor & a regulator. A guy friend of mine replaced the regulator (Looks kinda like a open frame with coils on it) & it worked at first but now it's messing up again. We think it just needs to be adjusted. I have to do the same thing as you, I open the door before I kill the engine, then I 1st have to roll the window down in order to get it to go back up. Sometimes that works but sometimes I have to kill the engine & restart it several times in order for the window to work. I have found out that if I try to manually pull the window some at the top that it helps. VERY FRUSTRATING as it would be quite costly to take it to Nissan for repair & I don't trust them as I feel most dealerships are big rip offs! I think Nissan tried to screw me by telling me the window needed a new motor and a regulator, if that was the case I don't think the window would function at all. I'm a woman with just basic auto knowledge but that seems logical to me! Of course all this happened AFTER my extended warranty had just expired! When my friend took the old regulator out he said some of the coils were bound up. Hope this helps & if you find out differantly please let me know. Thanks, Reanie
