1986 Nissan 300ZX battery holds charge intermently

Just bouth son his first car and sometimes the battery does not hold charge, new bat and alt checked by professional and says its good. I noticed a fan sound comming from engine when off, can this be draining bat? Have started pulling fuses and relays to isolate sound.

Any suggestions

That fan sound is cooling down your intake manifold and your turbo. Do not pull the fuse for this. If the car has the factory anti-theft system IT is draining your battery. Pull the fuse for that and you will see that problem go away. My 1985 z had that same problem when I bought it.
