1996 Nissan 240SX starter won't start

1996 Nissan 240SX Two Wheel Drive Manual 200 miles

I have a rebuilt engine.
when I turn the ignition on the car doesn't turn over,
neither does the starter. I can push start the car and it will start.

Try shorting out the starter motor if it cranks engine over check and test the clutch interlock relay and the clutch interlock switch and the ignition switch.
