1989 Nissan 240SX 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

i own a 1989 nissan 240sx and when i shift into 5th gear and somtimes when i shift in to reverse, it tends to pop out, what may be causing this problem, i hope to hear from you soon thanks

HI there,

check that the gear box is bolted up tight first, if that is ok, this will be a fault in the selector hub or a broken or weak détente spring in the selector if reverse is opposite 5th gear on the selection patten i would be thinking a détente problem first.
