Ok here is the problem. I bought a 240 sx on may 22 2008. The car was running rough and has a ingen tech cold air intake kit. I thought that the problem was a tune up but I replaced plugs, wires, fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel sending unit, rotor button and cap, oil changed and belts. Not this does not happen all the time but if I punch it it wants to stall for a second them produce what I think is full power but not sure. Now I should probly metioned that befor I bought the car it had and still has a NOS kit but it is not hooked up. I dont know if the car was sprayed or not. The rotor cap timming has been advanced when I try to set the timming back is sputters even worse. Compression check if fine, I feel it could be injectors, or mass air flow sensor. PLEASE HELP

Yes I have scanned the ecu for cades and it said that the system is ok. I am a mechanic and this car has boggled my mind. Mass air flow sensor is working checked it today after I got your email. The only thing that I have not done is put a noid light on the injectors. At this point I am thing that A. The timming chain is worn and a little out of time wich is why the timming was advanced in the first place. B. Dead cylinder. Thank you for you time.

If a cylinder is dead would it have a good compression check? And if so would it be cheaper to buy a new/used motor or total overhaul. All I know is I want the thing to run right and it is giving me a huge headache and a pain in my butt. Thanks for you time.

Thomas.

If the cylinder is dead the compression would be below 110 psi. If ok, have you tried a new injector in the dead hole?
