so i bought after market spark plug that are 9.3mm . and i was driving my car and it started running bad . shut off and wouldnt start. i put a new distributor on it and now it starts up just fine. is it possible that these wires are too big and fried the distributor

No- the thicker the wires the easier the voltage surge will flow thru the wires-less resistances
