I needed to change my timing chain. I have had Dodge dealership here in town to check with the VIN number if I needed a tensioner between the chain and gears. By looking with VIN number my van does not call or have a tensioner. After making sure the piston is in top dead center put the new gears and chain on. The left side of the chain is still very loose. But the right side is very tight. Is this right? My phone is not letting me send pictures.

That style does not use or need a tensioner. The chain will always be loose on the non-drive side. When it gets loose enough that it could jump a gear, then it is time to replace it.
