Had brakes done in July 23,2014, no other work done except an oil change later on. On Oct.28th, I was driving home and the vehicle started shaking badly and had a loud rotational thumping noise. I was very scared I wouldn't get it home but made it and went to an auto shop. Was informed that the left rear wheel had 3 broken studs and remaining 3 were hand tight - wheel was loose, he told me that I was lucky it hadn't flown off when I was driving. They inspected wheel and found it was ok at this time but had to replace the left rear hub bearing and replace 6 lug nuts. I was informed this happened because wheels weren't put back on correctly when the brakes were done, I just need your opinion to know if this might have been the reason for the problem, as I know nothing about vehicles and need to know if I should get anything else checked.

Kind of sounds like the problem, but happening 3 months later the original shop probably won't do much for you. But you can try.
