need to know wher positive battery cable goes to

replaced altanator and positive terminal car would die when remiving either jumper cable thin ti hook positive cable to battery then t jump area if starts then remove. if it dies your cable is bad

The positive cable should go to the starter and a smaller wire from it goes to the power distribution box.
