How to put engine in time?

Replaced water pump put secondary but need to put in time cams moved a little.

Hi,

You will need a retaining tool for the camshafts to properly set the timing. Most parts stores will lend one to you if you don't have it.

As far as the directions, I listed all directions related to the installation process of the water pump. Take a look through them and let me know if they help.

The tool needed is Ford tool part 303-1248. If you google search that part number as "Ford part number 303-1248, " it will bring up pics and sale items.

I used that tool but in process of breaking phaser bolts loose the lifted up and my cams moved so engine needs timed where it moved to get things to line up now.

The only thing you can do is start over. If you lost time on one of the cams, you need to get them back in time together.

And how do I do that with all chains off use a wrench and turn cams or as long as tool sits on cam it’s fine.

You can turn the cams. Once in position, then install the cam tool.
