Converting air suspension to struts. Rear air socks are almost fully pumped up. Want to discharge before I remove them. Any idea how?

If you have a scan tool you can deflate the system. I attached the process.

If not then look at number two you will see the air spring. It will have an air line going to it. I would just support frame of the vehicle with a jack and remove the air line. Clearly you will get a burst of air but if the vehicle is supported with a jack, it won't drop when you remove it. Just make sure you turn the air suspension switch off so that the compressor doesn't run to try and fill the system.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Good evening,

If I can throw in my 2 cents, removing the line can release a lot of pressure.

If you jack the car up in the front with the key off, the vent solenoids will open and exhaust the air.

Do the same to the rear and then they will all be free of air.

I always err on the side of caution.

Thanks for your response Roy.
My rear bags don't seem to bleed down. The rear solenoids aren't opening. The original condition was front bags wouldn't inflate and rear bags wouldn't deflate.
Just changed the front to struts today. Want to do rears ASAP but for safety want to bleed rear bags before removing.

Thanks KaseKenny1.
I can do that. I was just concerned the amount of air might be dangerous to remove line under pressure.

Okay, disconnect the height rod at the rear and move it up and down and see if it opens the solenoids.

Be careful if you are under it.

I attached a picture of it for you.

Understood. Just to be clear, if you have the vehicle supported then it is just releasing the air from the top of the spring. Clearly if the vehicle is sitting on the suspension and you do it, it will drop. However, I get how you may not want to do it this way.

If you release the rod as Roy stated, just try to support the vehicle as well. As he stated, you need to be careful if you are doing it on the ground and you are under it. No matter what you do, just make sure you have it supported so that you can control the drop of the vehicle while you are out from under it.

Let us know how you make out. Thanks

So just to update:

Finally replaced Air Suspension bags with Monroe Strut Assembles. Very happy with ride.
Discharging bags required removing solenoids from bags which was easy and air pressure didn't present any danger.
Now I have to figure out how to remove "Check Air Suspension Light" on Dash.
Any Suggestions.

This will not be easy as the system is always set to default and the light will come on. Disconnecting fuses will not do it as other systems are tied into the fuses as well.

The only way to do it is to remove the cluster and remove the bulb. There will always be codes set for the suspension.

I attached the procedure and some pictures for you.
