When I bought this truck, they informed me that someone had put rice in the gas tank. It has not been started at all since then. How should I go about getting it out?

Hi,

If rice was poured in and the vehicle was never started or attempted to be started, we need to remove the fuel tank and pump, drain the fuel, and then clean it out properly.

As far as the fuel tank, I attached the directions below for the removal and replacement of the tank. Note they have a vacuum pump siphon the old fuel. You will need to find a safe alternative.

If the vehicle was attempted to be started after this was done, I would recommend replacing the fuel filter as well. Also, it would be a good idea to disconnect the fuel supply at the fuel rail and blow out any fuel that is present.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

joe
