Need coolant sensor location

I need to know which sensor is for the ecm, there are two sensors side by side just behind the thermostat, one is for the gauge(cluster) the other is for the ecm, I need to replace the one for the ecm and I can not fin out which one is which. Ford dealer was no help typical dealer B S. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks Larry

Hi,

One is an ECT sensor, and the other is a sender. If you want the one that signals the ECM for fuel control and the cooling fan, it's the one on the right standing at the front of the vehicle. See pic 1.

Pics 2 and 3 are the directions for replacement.

Just want to be sure the sensor on the driver's side is for the ECM, correct?

Hi,

Yes. At least that is how it is identified to be in the manual. If I recall, that is the one I've replaced in the past for the ECM. It's been a while, but that is what I remember as well.
