Need Help with my Chrysler 200n clunking noise

There is a tool you might be able to borrow or rent from an auto parts store that borrows them called the "Chassis Ear". It is a set of six microphones, a switch box, and headphones. You clip the microphones to suspect points, then drive around while listening with the headphones. You can move the microphones around to zero in on the source of the noise. Be aware that many mechanics have never seen or even heard of this tool. Suspension and alignment mechanics use it to find rattles, squeaks, and other noises.

Every Chrysler dealership was issued this tool in the mid '90s but most never used it so it may be hard to find. The pattern of the clunks suggests it's not suspension-related. The first suspects would be something like an inner fender shield that's missing a fastener or a body panel that's loose and flexing. Poke on the front bumper cover. Try to turn each front wheel back and forth and feel if the inner tie rod end is clunking. You would feel that in the steering wheel too.
