My fiancé changed the valve cover gaskets on my car and now it spills all the oil out when started and would not go into drive. What did he do wrong?

Hello,

Changing a valve cover gasket is one of the easiest gaskets on an engine to change. The valve covers are on the top of the engine and are usually very accessible. If the gasket was not properly seated, it would definitely leak oil out it, but it would not cause the vehicle to not go into drive. That would have to do with the transmission, which is a totally different part of the vehicle all together. What exactly do you mean when you say that it wouldn't go into dive? Please be specific, the more specific the better.

Thanks,
Alex
