Purchased an OEM Honda Navigation radio from Ebay.
Car did not come with Navigation. Called Honda to see if radio was compatible. They said "yes".
Installed radio. Radio screen is black and screen on dash is black.
Disconnected battery for about half an hour. Connected battery and still the same.
Replaced audio fuse under hood. Screen on dash had light behind it but was completely blank. Radio screen stayed black. What is the problem and what do I need to remedy this problem?

Like most manufacturers, Honda makes sure that "upgrading" as you are is not a plug and play item. You need to use a factory style scan tool to tell the radio and the car that they are now connected and remove the lockout on the "new" radio. Then you also need to load in the correct maps for the unit. I believe there is also another module that you need to make the Navigation system work as well as just the head unit and the GPS antenna but service information does not show things like how to do a swap, just how to repair what is there.
