I recently purchased this car from a guy and he told me the water pump needed to be replaced because it overheats and he already replaced the thermostat. Well upon further inspection I noticed that when he reassembled the car, he forgot to put the hose back on for the coolant. I tired that and it still overheats, but I noticed a hose that looks important and I have no clue what it is or where it goes. if anyone could please respond soon id greatly appreciate it?

The circled hose is the hose in question.

I did do a little more looking and I realized that the PCV hose is missing. Could those two factors be the reason it is over heating?

No it would use more oil maybe but it should not cause it to overheat. If it does it within a few minutes of start up then check thermostat, if it takes longer check for cold spots on radiator, if you have those when the car overheated then the radiator is bad, otherwise have coolant system pressure checked for a head gasket leak.

So would you know what this hose is called? I think it is the PVC hose, but I want to make absolutely sure that it is because I'm about to order it. I have a picture of my car that is missing the hose. I will post it in the comments. The picture on this comment is a picture I found online.

This one is mine. Notice that it is missing. I am pretty sure it is the PVC hose but I would appreciate a second opinion.

I cannot really tell what is missing in the picture, not all cars have pcv valves or systems they are done another way. if you can find a better picture at a dealer would be more helpful to you as well as us.
