problem with the gearbox

My toyota brevis 2002 has a problem with the gearbox. each time a gear is engaged automatically, you feel the shock to much of the gear when engaging. it even takes a bit longer to engage a new gear. it is most experienced on the hills.

have a trans guy scan for codes it is probably an internal problem with gear box however.
