Hi Bonita,
Here is a video that covers the most common items but on your Jeep with a 3.8L, I am wondering if the pop was in the transmission. Do you have a check engine light on or does it make any odd noises now?

I am not sure any of these items would cause a pop noise then no power.
Also, when you say it has no power, I am assuming you mean it does not accelerate very well. Or do you mean there is no electrical power?
When it made this noise, were you moving or did it happen right as it started?
I am not sure what the cause is based on this information but hopefully with a little more digging we will figure it out. Thanks
