You see I didn’t have a cap at all on the fuel rail at first because I was changing my fuel filter and I then exerted the fuel pressure out to change my filter but after everything I never had a cap on it. So, I started it up and it started leaking fuel from it. After my fuel filter replacement was there supposed to be another step to close off the top of the cap or is the whole issue just that I need a cap to stop it from leaking?

Hi,

I believe I understand. If correct, the Schrader valve in the test port is now leaking after you released pressure. Is that correct?

If that is, it could be loose or need to be replaced. There is a tool used to tighten or remove the valve. That is the first thing I would try.

Below, I attached two pics. Pic 1 shows what the Schrader valve looks like. Pic 2 shows what the tool looks like for the removal or replacement of the valve. As far as the cap, that is to keep dirt out. It won't prevent leaking.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
