My engine developed a valve tap that I can't seem to get rid of.

I dropped a small washer into #6 cylinder while replacing the lower o-ring gaskets. It disintegrated to powder and I removed as much as possible, but some must have eluded me and caused the valve to "stick". Is there anything I can do, short of replacing the head, to stop the tapping?

The only thing that can be done is to take things apart to see what was damaged. Hopefully, it will be something easy.
