Hi, I opened my car door normally and let my door open when I went for a walk with my dog. When I came back I got into the car and the door cannot now be closed. It's as if the hinge has sat down or something. I tried to open the passenger door and now I can't close the door either. completely open. Hope you can help since I have never heard of the problem before. Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Do you think it is possible that the latch in the door got flipped down? So basically the vehicle thinks the door is closed because your door ajar sensors are in the latch. When the latch gets flipped down, then you try to close the door, it just bangs into the striker. The way to reverse this, is to just operate the interior door handle. Just pull it like you are opening the door and it will release the latch and start operating again.

I can't explain why this happened to both doors though. Let me know if this works and we can dig deeper if needed. Thanks
