My car won't start but will turn over!

So my boyfriend was on his way to work stopped at a gas station left the gas station was on the on ramp to get back on the free way the car just died on him going 50 mph he pulled over tried to start it and it would turn over but would start we tried the alternator tested the battery the fuel pump sounds like it's clicking on we changed the spark plugs any on know what is going on

I hate to say it, but my money is on a bad timing belt. I would go out and buy the auto repair manual for that particular year and make so you can get the replacement procedure correct. The book should run about $20 and I believe the belt should be around $30-$40.
