The engine cut off now it wont start.

I had someone pull out in front of me today. When he did I hit the brakes really hard to stop. My car immediately stopped. The engine cut off now it wont start. It makes a noise but will not turn over. My breaks locked up as well. What do I do my car is sitting in a parking lot where the cops helped me push it.

Hey Shari92downing,

Sorry for the wait, sometimes when stopping abruptly it can cause the timing belt/chain to jump, is the engine cranking over? does it sounds normal if it is? or if the engine doesn't crank over the battery could have gone bad and shorted internally, here is a link to help check that
