Turns over but will not start

The car will turn over but wont start and when it does start rarely it will cut off seconds later and it wont start again. it smokes and smells of gas.

Hello,

This could be a problem with your ignition system. Your vehicle uses an ignition system to make it's spark plugs work. If this system fails, there will be no spark at the spark plugs, no spark at the spark plugs, no igniting the air fuel mixture, no igniting the air fuel mixture, the engine will not start.
I have included a link down below for you to go to. This will confirm that there is an ignition problem. If there is one get back to us with what you find out and we will have specific tests to narrow down and fix the problem.
